Q: Is this event UCWDC sanctioned?
A: YES! Effective February 18, 2021 - Virtual events are sanctioned for 2021 and are UCWDC Country Dance World Championship qualifiers! Graduation rules do not apply to virtual events.
Q: I see you are offering a ballroom session, is that sanctioned?
A: The ballroom session is not sanctioned. We are planning to continue the ballroom sessions when we return to in person competition in 2022. Based on the ballroom circuit rules, a sanctioned competition can not be tied to another sanctioned competition. We love dance so we want to offer as many opportunities as possible! The ballroom sessions will generally follow NDCA rules.
Q: Will this event be 'Live'?
A: Dancers will submit their videos using music cuts provided by the event prior to the competition. Dances will be grouped into heats just like a regular competition. The competition will be streamed online in the heat format and then awards will be announced from a live feed!
Q: How do I... ??? A: The competition will run in the same required format, you just won't have to get up at 5 am to start hair and makeup! Plan to record your entries in early April. (That means you should start practicing now!)
